J&M Drive Leads

J&M manufactures a line of spotters and leads for each of the J&M products and for many other diesel, hydraulic and other impact hammers. All leads are available in swinging, sliding and fixed configurations.

Heavy-Duty Box Leads

Engineered for superior strength & deflection properties

  • Heavy wall, high-strength structural box tubing construction provides abrasion resistance and ensures a long rail life.
  • Precision fabricated in production jigs to ensure strict dimensional tolerances and accurate connection alignment on site.
  • Available in 10' increments in swinging, fixed and vertical travel configurations. Custom lengths also available.
  • Rigid bolted connections provide full-moment capability and superior deflection properties.
  • Heavy-duty lead ladders are braced at every yoke to ensure personnel safety.
  • Deep sections accommodates diesel, hydraulic and air/steam hammers.
  • All lead sizes are compatible with comparable size HPSI leads.
  • Full lead bracing allows any batter condition - fore, aft and side.

APPLICATION NOTES 
Never erect leads without first confirming both the structural integrity of the leads and the structural adequacy of the leads to handle the intended application. Lead failure can result in death and/or destruction of property.

Spotters

Model 100 Spotter - The J&M Hydraulic spotter is light-duty and provides a full 21 feet of movement for fore-aft batters up to 1:3 plus 6 feet side-to-side movement for plumbing piles. Standard attachments include rear universal pad-eyes with pins, front lead connector plate, hydraulic control valve and 15 feet hydraulic hose connecting spotter to valve. Approximate weight is 1 ½ tons or 3000 lbs. Hydraulic requirements are 10-20 gpm at 1500 psi.

Model 150 Spotter - The J&M medium-duty hydraulic spotter provides 20 feet of movement for for-aft batters up to 1:3, plus 30 degrees side-to-side movement from center for side batters up to 1:4. Standard attachments include rear universal pad-eyes with pins, front lead connector plate, hydraulic control valve and 15 feet hydraulic hose connecting spotter to valve. Approximate weight is 1 ½ tons or 3000 lbs. Hydraulic requirements are 10-20 gpm at 1500 psi. Optional 30 degree front lead rotator is available.

Power Units

Model P20 - powered by a 20HP, three-cylinder, water-cooled Lombardini diesel engine, this unit provides 12 gpm at 2500 psi to power any J&M spotter. 38"Lx54"Wx34"H. Weight 1533 lbs (695 kg).

Model P28 - powered by a 28HP, four-cylinder, water-cooled Lombardini diesel engine, this unit provides 16 gpm at 2500 psi to power any J&M spotter. 38"Lx54"Wx34"H. Weight 1533 lbs (695 kg).

All three spotter power units may also be used to power hydraulic start set-ups for J&M diesel hammers.
